Known to be one of the best
I use to purchase this brand, but over the years it's gotten more and more expensive (I use a lot of oyster sauce). That said, I used to purchase it exclusively because it was the best. If you are looking for one of the best, then definitely purchase this one. Otherwise, you can get the non-premium Lee Kim Kee or Panda Brand.

Best of the oyster sauces we have tried

I cook Thai frequently, and this oyster sauce makes a big difference in the final taste. When they said premium, they meant it. I've tried many other brands, but this one type is the only one my children will eat. They know at the first bite if I didn't use it. Good Sauce!
I saw a show about this product. The way it was made, the uses for it and everyone concerned had only good things to say about the company and the product and since I do like the oriental twist, if I may, I decided to buy it. Already used it and the results were very decent and everyone seemed to enjoy my version of Shrimp Lo Mein? (have to learn chinese one of these years) and that is good enough. Tried to shop for it locally but since I reside in an area that shies away from most things of culinary value I had to resort to my good old friend Amazon.com. I see a day not too far off in the future when Amazon might step up and become the reigning champ on the gourmet category. Hopefully when that day arrives they will be the ones selling the products, so us happy Prime Members can rejoice and stop paying 3rd parties fees. Wok Mei Oyster Sauce
I was led to this product after researching sodium hydroxide which was listed as an ingredient on a bottle of oyster sauce in the store. I didn't see the brand that I normally purchased and was looking for a substitute. After learning that there is a food grade sodium hydroxide and it is commonly found in fruit and vegetable washes, which I don't use, I decided that I wasn't interested in eating lye, food grade or not, and I started searching for a natural product and Wok Mei came up in the search results.Even though the oyster sauce that I normally used didn't list any unusual ingredients, the Wok Mei oyster sauce wins hands down in terms of flavor, and it has made a noticeable difference in my stir frys.I purchased mine directly from the Honest Foods website in search of a better price on shipping.This is one of my favorite veggie stir frys.Bok ChoyIngredients1 tbsp vegetable oil1 tbsp sesame oil1...

Good sauce.
I bought all 3 Wok Mei products in one hit. I bought them because there is no High Fructose Corn Syrup or hydrogenated/brominated oils. The Oyster Sauce made my stir fry marinades rich and added a bit more flavor. I have run out and my stir fry just isn't the same.

Great flavor !!
I have used this sauce for many dishes. Yes, it is good for oriental and stir fry, but I use it as a base for many sauces when cooking steak and pork chops...richly flavored and not high in sodium. Wonderful product.

A fantastic Oyster sauce, though...
If there is an Asian grocer you should be able to get this for closer to $2. I think I buy it in Chinatown for $2 on sale, $2.50 otherwise. This is the cheaper brand of oyster sauce by Lee Kum Kee and is excellent. There isn't the weird after taste that is marked by all of the impostor brands of oyster sauce out there.If you're a beginner and don't know what to do with this, the easiest thing is to just steam or boil broccoli until cooked, but not sauce. Then pour this over it. The sauce is so good, you really don't need to do anything else.

Don't hate because it's overpriced here!
I'm of the opinion that Amazon star ratings should be based on THE PRODUCT! Not the price, problems with your shipment, etc. Yes this is way overpriced if you live anywhere near an asian market or well stocked supermarket (Market Basket rules!) But the product itself is top quality, and let's keep in mind, not everyone lives within convenient shopping distance to an asian market. $8+ for 22 oz is almost double what I pay locally, but for many the $4 difference is made up for in convenience and gas$. A bottle of good Oyster Sauce is a really versatile pantry item, and well worth having on hand if you are interested in asian-style condiments/ marinades / sauces. And this is good Oyster Sauce.

The BEST oyster sauce available!
This is by far the BEST oyster sauce available for authentic Asian cooking, hands down. Get this local, it is WAY cheaper, should only be 2-4 bucks a large bottle. I run out of oyster sauce frequently. If you like to cook Asian foods, get this!
